About

Firecracker was established in 2011 by Fiona Rogers to promote European women working in photography, through a variety of online features, networking opportunities and public events.

Rogers currently works at Magnum Photos London as the Cultural & Education
Manager, a position she has held since 2005. Fiona's responsibilities include originating and touring international photographic exhibitions, and working alongside Magnum's Cultural & Print Room Director to program Magnum's London gallery space and represent its photographers within the commercial market. In 2007 Fiona founded Magnum's educational initative, which now encompasses a yearly schedule of global workshops, professional practice seminiars, masterclasses and portfolio review events.

Prior to Magnum, Fiona was employed at a popular London gallery and studied BA Arts & Media at the University for the Creative Arts in Surrey. She holds a postgraduate certificate from the London College of Communication in Creative Enterprise Management.

In 2012, Firecracker launched its inaugural Photographic Grant, awarded to a female photographer born or residing in Europe to assist with a documentary project.
